Mentors Help Us Achieve Success...

When I was 24 years old, I met Walt Yeager. Walt was Branch Manager and my boss, and he became one of my greatest mentors. Soon after I reported to Walt, he encouraged me to invest the maximum amount in our company 401K plan. At that time, I had no vision of retirement and I resisted. But Walt kept insisting and eventually I did it. That one piece of advice enabled me to achieve a life-long dream: buying a condo on a lake.

Early in my sales career, Walt also taught me the value of relationships. He constantly reminded me: 'No matter how leading edge your product is, it will eventually become a commodity. Focus on forming strong personal relationships with your customers because that is the true differentiator from the competition.' Walt guided and protected me many times while I was green and learning the sales position. I am very fortunate to have had a mentor like Walt in my life.
